About the Achievement
At the 2026 National Robotics Competition (NRC), our Upper Primary team was awarded Overall Champion — a milestone that reflects far more than one successful competition day.
It represents months of designing, coding, testing, problem-solving, rebuilding and trying again.
About NRC: Organised by Science Centre Singapore since 1999 with support from the Ministry of Education, the National Robotics Competition gives students the opportunity to put STEM learning into practice through real-world robotics challenges.
In the Upper Primary Regular Category, students must design, build and programme an autonomous robot to solve challenges on a competition field. With the field set up randomly each round, students cannot simply memorise a solution — their robot must be able to respond, adapt and make decisions.
And that is exactly the kind of learning we believe in at NK Robotics.
More Than a Trophy
Winning matters. But what happens before the winning matters even more.
Our students learn to approach a difficult problem, break it into smaller parts, test their ideas, identify what went wrong and improve their solution.
They learn that when something does not work the first time, the answer is not to give up.
It is to ask:
- Why didn’t it work?
- What can we change?
- And what should we try next?
Those are skills that go far beyond robotics.
This Is What We Want Our Students to Take With Them
Robots will change. Technology will change. Competitions will come and go.
But the ability to think independently, solve unfamiliar problems and keep improving after failure will stay with a child for life.
The trophy is a wonderful result.
The confidence to face a problem with no model answer is the real achievement.
